in Deer Park ISD disciplinary alternative education program there are policies and procedures in place to ensure a safe and efficient learning environment for all students and staff at the beginning of each day student should arrive at School between 8:30 8:55 a.m. for check-in procedures and breakfast students will not be accepted after 8:55 a.m. all students will be issued two shirts and one ID to be worn daily shirts must be returned unaltered at the end of the student assignment you've lost or altered students will be charged $5 each for a shirt or ID the following accessories and clothing articles are not allowed free of any kind watches hoodies hats caps and head coverings students must wear full length pants worn at the waist the following pants are not allowed shorts joggers cargo pants women pants sweatpants multicolored or camo pants pants with metal buckles Loops or chains pants with extra Pockets or holes with showing and pants not long enough to touch the shoes the following shoes are not allowed at daep Sandals Crocs house shoes shower shoes and flip flops Edition students are expected to be properly groomed for males facial hair and nail polish and makeup are prohibited piercings and uncovered tattoos are also not acceptable for males or females student permitted to bring certain items to daep that include wallet small purse change purse clutch Keys feminine hygiene products and magazines the following items are not allow however makeup products hair products cell phones and more than $5 in cash backpacks are only allowed on the first and last day of the students assignment students will not be allowed to use the phone wallet daep any emergency phone calls will be made by our secretary remember students and any items brought on the campus are subject to search all items confiscated from students will be returned to a parent only or to the student on the last day of their assignment daep will not be responsible for any items confiscated any medications must be given to our secretary upon arrival prescription medication must be in the original labeled container with additions name and instructions for administration over the counter medications must be in the original label container and accompanied with a parent note while fulfilling your assignment here. BEP your District supplied iPad and your arise incentive Point sheet with parents signature are the only supplies you should bring each day the arise incentive program allows students to earn early release days turning points on their daily point sheet and completing a final learning project the maximum points a student may earn on each daily point sheet is 15 one point for each yes in the academic progress column 1.4 each yes in the rules compliance column and 1.4 successfully completing the student self evaluation box in complete sentences for every Five Points sheets that a student returns with a maximum score AR-15 that student will earn one day of early release students can earn up to two days of early release on a 15-day assignment and up to five days of early release on a 30-day assignment in addition completing your point sheets you will be required to complete a learning project to be eligible for early release the daap counselor will discuss with you individually your project opportunity and due date students will have can you access to a school counselor during their stay at daep student should notify aadap staff member or scan the counselor q r code to request counseling assistants in an emergency please notify then first staff member all textbooks are provided if needed students will complete daily assignments by accessing the canvas of their home campus teachers at daep these classroom procedures must be followed take care of all Office business before entering the classroom in the morning never leave the classroom without permission use the flag system for permission to talk or get out of your desk use technology according to daep episd Network and computer use agreement and do not re-enter the building after being dismissed in the afternoon during check-in every morning students May order and purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria sack lunch from home we do not accept food deliveries additionally glass bottles bottles with screw-on caps reusable and travel cups and energy drink of any kind are not allowed almonds must be unopened and sealed food or drink may not be kept overnight and it may not be shared students may eat or drink during breakfast and lunch only the following behaviors are not allowed at daep disrespect to a staff member or student physical contact with other students the use of profanity written or oral and sharing food or other materials in the classroom multiple suspensions or severe misconduct that wouldn't otherwise result in expulsion may result in assignment to High Point School East for a minimum of 45 days while attending your regular school campus after completing your daep assignment the following incidents will result in assignment to High Point School East for a minimum of 45 days a second daep assignment for controlled substance or the third. EP assignments of any kind meanwhile the following actions performed at daep by a student may result in expulsion being in possession of or under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance and getting into a fight students are given a bus pass on the day of orientation they will be transported home that day and the bus driver will give them an approximate time to be picked up in the morning students should be at their store 10 minutes before the designated time you've absent for three consecutive days the bus will not go to the designated stop a guardian must call the transportation office to reinstate bus services at 83266 7480 students must comply with the instructions of the bus driver and or the monitor a student presenting a danger to self or others will lose bus privileges driving to. BP is a privilege to be able to drive to daep you must have the following a valid driver's license proof of insurance and a registered campus parking permit students will park in a daep park next to the tennis courts students may not sit in their cars after arriving at school soon as vehicles are subject to search by drug dogs all absences are considered unverified until the student bring note following these policies and procedures will ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all students and staff at daep
